My Prayer

Can you believe we are already in the second week of Advent? I will admit that I have been caught up in busyness with my work and fundraising and parish life and I have to take a deep breathe to stop and live in the present moment. If you are reading this, could you take a minute to pray the prayer below with me and for me as I gather in patience that my entrance with the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity is in God's timing, whether that will be in January or this August. It gives me strength to know others are walking with me in prayer. And if you can pray for all of those who have received a call or are currently discerning religious life or the priesthood that they may slow down and listen to what the Lord is telling them. This is the prayer I wrote for my prayer cards, which was inspired while spending one on one time with Jesus, during this discernment journey.

Lord, I come to You on my knees and I ask for the grace to pray. Help me to be still and to be fully present to You. Fill me with Your love and allow peace to wash away all that disturbs me. Jesus, continue to transform my heart and mind as I draw closer to You.

Open my ears to hear, my eyes to see,

Holy Spirit guide my words and actions.

Lord, give me the courage and perseverance to take up my cross daily. Pour out Your love and truth through my life and witness. Mary, Mother of God, Saints above, walk with me and pray for me along this journey. -Amen
