Big News!

I realized that it was about time for another post. Through January I was in the process of getting ready to move which happened at the beginning of February. Where did I move to you may ask? A wonderful couple from my parish offered me their spare room as a way that they could support me as I continue to journey towards entering the convent. As I reflect on the transition, I have to be honest that it was a bit chaotic and I do believe that God may not have gifted me in organizing and implementing a move but it did happen! :) Now I have time to continue to downsize and let go of attachments as I prepare for August. An amazing piece of news to share is that the fundraising finish line was crossed and so I will be entering this August 2021. I am so grateful to God and to every person that was a part of making this possible. Now I have the time to slowly say Thank You and to be fully present from now until I enter formation.

Below is the letter I wrote to my parish which will be in the upcoming bulletin:

“To my Holy Apostles Family and to all that have been a part of my journey, I have some wonderful news to share. The fundraising goal has been reached and I will be entering with the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity this August 2021! In Matthew 19 we read – "...with God all things are possible.” I want to take this time to Thank each one of you who allowed God to work through you as you joined me on this mission in prayer and support so I can fulfill what God is asking of me at this time. Jesus called and I said Yes. Then this amazing community and so many others said Yes to provide what God was asking in order for the door of the convent to be open to me. Pope Benedict XVI said “The love of God sometimes follows paths one could never have imagined, but it always reaches those who are willing to be found.” During this Lenten season we have heard about taking the time to “just be” with our Lord and to allow Him to speak to us. About two years ago was when I finally stopped and just sat with our Lord and was honest, face to face in Adoration. I had finally been open to truly hear what He had to say to me. Each path and vocational call is different. And I pray that all of us can allow our hearts to be truly open to our amazing God as we are nourished by the Eucharist and revitalized by the sacraments and live out our Catholic faith with the support of our parish community. What is next for me? When I enter the convent in August I will begin formal formation in the FSCC community, which will give me the opportunity to be set apart and immersed into religious life as the Lord continues to reveal His plans. Religious life formation is 6-9years through a continued mutual discernment of God, the community, and me to the continuity of the call. Holy Apostles is my home parish and I pray that as God leads me that you will keep me in your prayers now and will continue when I enter in August, as well as all those in consecrated life, men and women religious life, and priesthood formation.” Thank you to all that have already signed up to follow my blog. I will be requesting permission to update my blog once I enter since I will have limited contact. So I invite you to continue to follow me in these months leading up to the entrance and once I step through the door. Blessings to you! Pax et Bonum!
